Privacy policy

The controller for data processing on this website is Angelina Fredes, Fredes Studio, Gerliswilstrasse 30, 6020 Emmenbrücke LU, Switzerland.

This website only collects data necessary for its operation. When you use the contact form, your name, email address, business, preferred timing and message are sent to me via the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) so I can answer your request; you receive a copy as an acknowledgement. The hosting provider stores technical access data (e.g. IP address) in server logs.

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA); data may be transferred to the USA. No analytics tool is in use. The website sets the cookie "NEXT_LOCALE", which remembers the chosen language until you close the browser. The only other cookie is set by the leaderboard (see "Nova Arcade").

The game under /play runs entirely in the browser. Your personal best and the sound setting are stored locally on your device by your browser (local storage); they never leave the device. While the leaderboard is in operation, the game fetches a game session from the server at the start of each round; this stores the game, a start value, the time and a shortened hash of your IP address (see below), so that results can be checked and abuse prevented.

If you want a result on the leaderboard, you enter a name (alias) and an email address. The following is then stored: the alias, the email address, score and play time, the game record (replay: start value and the moments of your inputs, so the server can recalculate the score), the time of validation, the language, and a shortened hash of your IP address made with a secret key – the IP address itself is not stored. Purpose: to check the result, to have the entry confirmed by email and to prevent abuse.

The leaderboard data (alias, email address, score, replay, IP hash) and the email consents are stored in a database of the provider Supabase on a server in Frankfurt, Germany, that is, within the EEA.

Only rank, alias and score are publicly visible. Your email address never appears on the leaderboard and is not published anywhere.

Unconfirmed entries are deleted after 7 days; the confirmation link is valid for 48 hours. Abuse-prevention records (IP hash) are deleted after 24 hours unless they belong to a stored result. Confirmed entries (alias, score, replay) and the associated email address are kept for as long as the leaderboard exists – there is no automatic deletion period for them. You can request deletion at any time by emailing info@fredes-studio.ch.

After confirmation the website sets the cookie "arcade_id", valid for 180 days. It contains a signed identifier and a hash of your email address, not the address itself. It lets further results with the same address appear in this browser without a new confirmation email. If you delete it in your browser, your next entry triggers a confirmation email again.

Tips, news and offers by email are a separate, voluntary consent: a box of its own and a confirmation email of its own (link valid for 72 hours). Without that click you receive no advertising, and confirming a leaderboard entry does not count as consent. Stored are the status, the version of the consent wording, the language and the times of request, confirmation and withdrawal. Unconfirmed consents are deleted after 30 days. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click via the unsubscribe link you receive with the confirmation; your leaderboard entry is not affected.

The leaderboard emails (entry confirmation, consent, unsubscribe link) are sent by the service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA); for this, your email address and the content of the email are transferred to the USA.

The leaderboard is currently not in operation: no results, email addresses or IP hashes are stored, and the cookie "arcade_id" is not set.

You have the right at any time to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data. Contact info@fredes-studio.ch.
